Application Guide

MAXILUBE is an EP (extreme pressure) antifriction metal treatment, and may be added to all types of machinery lubricants. MAXILUBE reduces friction and virtually eliminates wear at the EP interfaces in mechanical systems. By reducing friction, MAXILUBE lowers operating temperatures, cuts oil and fuel consumption, and increases power. Elimination of wear means reduced maintenance and extends the life of your equipment. By itself, MAXILUBE is not a lubricant and does not substitute for oils. It must be used as an additive. NOTE: MAXILUBE should not make up more than 6% by volume of the total amount of lubricant being used.
Uses for MAXILUBE include...

AUTOMOTIVE APPLICATIONS

Add to existing lubricants:

  • In oils lighter than 80W, use 1-1/2 to 2 oz. per quart.
  • In oils and lubes 80W and heavier, use 2 oz. per quart.
  • In hydraulic fluids, use 1/2 to 1 oz. per quart.
  • Mix 1 oz. into each tube or pound of grease.

Common uses for Cars, Vans, Light Trucks:

V-8 Engine10 oz.
Manual Transmission5 oz.
Differential6 oz.
Transfer Case6 oz.
4 to 6 Cylinder Engine8 oz.
Automatic Transmission3 oz.
Power Steering1 oz.
Wheel Bearing1/2 oz.

Note: Not for use in Limited-Slip or Posi-Traction differentials.

MAXILUBE re-treatment: Treat at half the above rates (or less) when lubricants are added or changed. For best results use as directed.

Industrial Applications

  • 1 oz. per pound of grease.
  • 1 oz. per pound of gear oil.
  • 2-4 oz. per gallon of hydraulic fluid.
  • 1 oz. per quart of compressor oil.
  • 2 oz. per quart of crankcase oil.

Heavy Equipment Applications

General:

Crankcase oils (lighter than 80W) 1-1/2 to 2 oz. per qt.; 6 oz per gallon.
Gear Oils (80W or heavier) 3 oz. per qt.; 12 oz. per gallon.
Hydraulic Systems (problem free) 1/2 oz. per qt.; 2 oz. per gallon.
Hydraulic Systems (hot, dry, noisy) 1 oz. per qt.; 4 oz. per gallon.

Large Diesel Trucks:

6 cylinder engine crankcase (7-12 gal. capacity) 1-1/2 qts. (3 pints)
8 cylinder engine crankcase (8-15 gal. capacity) 2 qts. (1/2 gallon)
Transmission (9-18 speeds) 1 qt.
Single differential, single speed 1 qt.
Single differential, 2 speed 1-1/2 qts. (3 pints)
2 differentials:
Front, without power divider 1 qt.
Front, with power divider 1-1/2 qts. (3 pints)
    Rear 1qt.
Steering box 8 oz.
All wheel bearings, truck & trailer 2 oz. per hub

Large Caterpillar-Type Tractors:

Size of D-7 and D-8:
    4 cylinder crankcase 1-1/2 qts. (3 pints)
6 cylinder engine crankcase 2 qts. (1/2 gallon)
Size of D-9, Engine crankcase 2-1/2 qts. (5 pints)
Combined transmission/rear end 1-1/2 to 2 qts. (3-4 pints)
Each final drive 1 qt. per final drive

Note: When in doubt, or for equipment not listed above, determine compartment lubricating fluid capacity and add MAXILUBE according to the mix ratios listed under GENERAL above.
